Emily is a fully Chartered Physiotherapist registered with the CSP and HCPC. Emily is also a qualified Personal Trainer, Gym Instructor and Nutritional Advisor. Emily offers Physiotherapy, massage and Personal Training from a private fully equipped gym & treatment room in Abbots Leigh, Bristol.
Emily has experience working with a multitude of MSK and Orthopedic conditions. She has a holistic approach to treatment and combines her knowledge as a physiotherapist with her strength and conditioning background. Emily uses a wide range of treatment techniques, including massage, acupuncture, dry cupping therapy and exercise rehabilitation with her main focus being the restoration of function and minimising pain. She works to enhance the quality of life, health and wellbeing of her patients.
Emily has a particular interest and specific training in treating issues relating to the jaw. This includes jaw clenching, teeth grinding, jaw pain and headaches.
Emily has experience working in Orthopedics aiding recovery after joint surgery and joint replacements. She has worked with The Great Britain Water skiing team and the Riding for the Disabled Association. Emily has also worked on and off the pitch for a local rugby team, this includes working alongside coaches and athletes to prevent injury and promote a fast recovery for the players. In addition, she has worked with a theatre school educating and improving the dancers mobility alongside treating injuries and alleviating pain to ensure the students are able to continue with their studies.
Emily has always been a keen sports player, including rowing for The City of Bristol Rowing Club at National and International level. She has also competed at Regional level for Bristol and West Netball Club. Emily loves adventure including partaking in; horse riding, stand up paddle boarding, skiing, water skiing, wild swimming, yoga, pilates and hiking. Her passion for activity and sports has given Emily an excellent understanding of sports related injury prevention and recovery. Emily provides bespoke personal training coaching sessions specific to each clients needs with the aim to improve each clients overall health and wellbeing (and of course for it to be fun too!). This may include nutritional advice, injury rehabilitation, flexibility & mobility training, personalised home workout plans, lifestyle tools and as much support as needed to reach her clients own personal health goals.
